[Class 135.] Check lift valves.-A non-return valve for air compressors and of the type in which an annular plate valve k is loaded by a spring m and is adapted to work between a valve seat e and a valve guard h detachably secured to the seat has the seat held in position by a holding down member v having an inlet port 3 and an annulus w contacting with the upper side of the valve seating. The member w is acted on by coiled springs x housed in recesses y in the member v and bearing against a yoke z bolted to the cylinder. The valve loading spring is housed in a recess in the valve guard which has an annulus o adapted to engage the valve midway between the concentric seats p, q. A plunger 4 housed in the member v is provided with push rods 5 adapted to hold the valve open when a predetermined pressure obtains in the receiver.
