Safety valves.-A spring- loaded safety valve of the kind provided with a secondary valve actuating area is arranged so that the loading adjustment cannot be tampered with while the valve is under pressure. The tubular adjusting screw i for the loading spring d screws through a boss h carried by an intermediate member f clamped by bolts p between a flange c on the main casing a and a perforated protecting cover o. The valve spindle e passes through the screw i and is attached to the perforated actuating disc k which slides in the intermediate chamber f. In a modification, the bolts are dispensed with and the intermediate member is held against the main casing by means of a shoulder on a protecting cover screwed on to the casing.
