Distributing matrices. - In distributing- apparatus having a lifting-finger to deliver the matrix to the feed-screws, the finger H is formed with a broad shelf-like top, so that its engagement with a matrix increases during the lifting. As a matrix rises, inclined portions e of the abutments E<2> at the end of the guide-rails E<1> allow the matrix to move forwards over the top of the finger.
