9010. Walker, A. H., [Mergenthaler Linotype Co.]. April 9. Matrices for type-bar making machines. To facilitate t h e passage of the matrices from the distributor to the magazine, and also the insertion of spacers &c. in the assembled line, the upper ends of the matrices, including the upper ears a<1>, a<2>, are bevelled or chamfered. The matrices may also be bevelled at the lower ends on the opposite side, as heretofore.
