[Class 100 (iii)] Keyboards.-In apparatus for the production of spaced-out lines by the release of a space matrix conjointly with the release of each character matrix, the releasing-devices of a number of space-matrix channels are coupled each with a group of character-matrix releasing- devices. The exhaustion of the space matrices, which results from the use of only a single space-matrix channel, is thereby avoided. The key-bars b that release character matrices have rearwardly extending lugs h, which are located at different levels in, say, four groups of key-bars. Each of the four key-bars that release space matrices has a lug i, which is inverted in relation to the lugs h. Four bails r are pivoted in a sliding carriage n, which can be drawn forwards by means of a handle o, so as to insert the bails between the lugs h, i.
