Abstract

259,842. Brettell, F. G., (Seng Co.). April 10, 1926. Bedsteads convertible into seats. - In a seat convertible into a bedstead, of the type comprising an upper section 6 which can be moved forwardly while the lower section 7 is raised, levers 15, 16 are provided, pivoted at their lower ends to the frame member 12 and slidably connected at their upper ends to the member 7, the levers being connected together by a link 17 to cause them to move in unison. The section 6 is moved in unison with the section 7 by means of levers 23, connected by a transverse shaft 24, and levers 27 and links 19. Folding legs 26 are operated by links 25. Springs 29 and 32 are provided to counterbalance, and to assist in the opening and closing of, the moving parts.
