Abstract

258,754. Brettell, F. G., (Seng Co.). Dec. 8, 1925. Bedsteads convertible into seats. - A seat or settee convertible into a bed comprises upper and lower sections 7, 6, the lower section being adapted to be raised when the upper section is moved outwardly, and for this purpose being connected to the main frame at each end by a pair of crossed levers 9 having a fixed connection and a sliding connection 10, 11. The upper section 7 is actuated by means of the links 12, 13 and 20, and the folding legs 16 by the links 17. Springs 21, 23 may be provided to assist the opening and closing of the movable parts. Brackets 25 are provided to support the upper section 7 when in closed position, Fig. 5, and to prevent lateral movement of the lower section 6, Fig. 4, when the device is in use as a bed.
