Abstract

256,053. Atkinson, C. J. Aug. 8, 1925. Drawings to Specification. Soap tablets, especially those for single use, are made by compacting together soap flakes or granules, preferably dried, and (1) a gas-producing agent; or (2) dried bran, outmeal, sawdust, or other insoluble particles expanding rapidly in contact with water; or (3) both. in such quantities that on contact with water the tablet is mpidly disintegrated. Suitable proportions are 0-1 per cent of sodium carbonate or bleaching powder with its equivalent of tartaric, citric or other solid acid; or 20-25 parts by volume of soap granules to 80-75 parts by volume of sawdust, &c. compacted under a pressure of 2000 lb. per sq, in. Specification 14285/10 is referred to.
