Abstract

256,020. Victory-Kidder Printing Machine Co., Ltd., and Nixon. E. G. June 26, 1925. Feeding webs.-In a web-guiding and. tensioning device for printing &c. machines, comprising a group cf stationary rollers and one or more co-operating rollers mounted on a pivoted frame to allow separation of the rcllers for threading the web, the frame is pivoted about an axis at right angles to the axes of the rollers. The web a passes from the roll A round a spring-mounted roller b<0> and between stationary rollers b, b<2>, b<4> and co-operating movable rollers b<1>, b<3> to the rollers B of the printing &c. machine. The rollers b<1>, b<3> are carried by a frame c which is mounted on a pivot e, Fig. 3, at right angles to the axes of the rollers and is normally held against movement by a spring latch g on the machine frame engaging a pin g<1> on the frame c.
