Abstract

Feeding webs.-In connection with an offset machine comprising a vertical fixed type-body 1 and offset rollers 7, 8 which are carried by shafts reciprocated in a vertical direction and rotated continuously in the same direction by means of segmental gears and racks 9, 10, a feeding- apparatus for webs is described. A pair of offset rollers 8 coact with one another to print simultaneously on opposite sides of a web 2, which is fed continuously from a roll by friction rollers, passed over guide rollers 17, and a gravity looping-roller 20, and is fed intermittently through the rollers 8 and 'wound up on a roller 19 by a roller 18 fitted with a friction sector 18<1>, which grips the paper and also relieves the paper from the action of pivoted spring-pressed rubber-faced clamps 20, normally holding the paper on the roller 19.
