Abstract

287,629. Laube, C. O. K. Dec. 22, 1926. Feeding webs.-In a machine for making necked or shouldered boxes by inserting a border strip within a box body, the web 3 for forming the box body is drawn intermittent from a roll 1 by rollers 4, 5, the :lower roller 5 being continuously rotated, and the upper roller 4 being carried by a weight-loaded lever 19 pivoted at 20 and also carrying a brake 21 co-operating with the feed-table 22 to clamp the web thereon when the feed is interrupted by the raising of the roller 4 out of gear with the roller 5. The roller 4 is raised at the desired intervals to stop the feed by a pair of cams 23 mounted on the shaft 114 of the roller 5 and engaging a roller 24 on the lever 19, one of the cams being fixed to the shaft and the other being angularly adjustable thereon to vary the feed of the web.
