Abstract

496,626. Feeding webs. LERNER, F. March 14, 1938, No. 7840. [Class 100 (i)] A web 1 is fed intermittently to a cutting and folding apparatus by a continuously rotating suction roller 6 having a steel or other wear-resisting surface which slips on the web while the latter is held by a periodically actuated web arresting brake 5 to which the web is fed continuously by rollers 2, 3. The roller 6 rotates freely on an internal block 11 having a suction chamber 13 adjacent the upper part of the roller 6 and connected to a suction tube.
