Abstract

The device is used after printing a web with multiple impressions which must be cut accurately without build up of error. The printed paper (2) passes through the first set of pressure rollers (1) and then between the cutting cylinder (5) and blade (7) with its backup roller (6). These two sets of rollers have the same surface speed. The cut lengths are fed through a final pair of pressure rollers (4) at a surface speed approximately 20% greater than that of the uncut strip. The distance between cutting and final rollers is less than the circumference travelled by the cutter blade.
