Abstract

Feeding webs.-In a slitting and rewinding machine the web from a roll A is fed round guide rolls between cutting-discs 9 and a grooved cylinder 3, and is wound on to drums 7 which are drawn by contact with the cylinder 3. The latter is supported on a shaft 2 comprising hard metal bushes spaced by distance pieces. Coacting with the edge of the bushes are spring- urged disc cutters 9 mounted in adjustable holders 8.
