Abstract

248,585. MacIvor, S. A. April 6, 1925. Guiding mechanism. - The endless felts of a paper-making machine are automatically guided by means comprising a pair of forked guide plates C, C<1> arranged to embrace the opposite edges of the felt B and mounted upon a transversely movable bar D, which operates through radius bars E, E* to rotate the bearings a of the guide roller A about pedestals F, so that, upon lateral movement of the felt and engagement thereof with a plate C, C<1>, the guide roller is moved angularly so as to restore the felt to its correct path. The radius bars E, E*, which are arranged parallel to one another, are mounted at one end upon a slotted plate e<1> projecting from the pedestal F so as to admit of variation in the angular position thereof to suit the angle of travel of the felt.
