573,119. Feeding webs. GOSS PRINTING PRESS CO., Ltd. Oct. 15, 1943, No. 16997. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1942. [Class 100 (i)] Mechanism for guiding a travelling web transversely comprises a pair of parallel rollers over which the web passes in a substantially Z-shaped course, each roller being mounted at one end in a fixed position, means being provided to move the other ends of the rollers simultaneously to adjust the rollers angularly in relation to the run of the web while maintaining them parallel to each other. In one form. Fig. 3, the movable ends of the rollers 20, 21 are adjustable both vertically and horizontally and for this purpose the rollers are mounted in bearings 37, 38 adjustable horizontally on guide rods 56 by screws 60, 61, interconnecting gearing 65, 68, 70, 69, 67 and a hand wheel 64. The rods 56 are carried by a frame 50 slidable vertically on guide rods 45 carried by a fixed bracket 40 and operated by means of a screwed rod 47 and hand wheel 48. In a second form, Fig. 9, the rollers are adjustable in one plane only, the movable ends being mounted in bearing 73, 78 adjustable by screws 74, 79, interconnecting gearing 82 .. 86 and hand wheel 81.
