Abstract

Support and guiding means for a master template in a copying lathe comprises an inverted U-shaped bar 3 mounted for movement in a horizontal plane by its web 13 which is supported between rollers 6, 14 and 7, 15 mounted at each end of a bearer 1. Lateral support and guiding of the bar 3 is effected by pairs of rollers 21, 22 and 29, 30 each pair being mounted on a pivotable plate 25 and 33 respectively each of which are adjustable by means of a set screw 36, 37 to effect engagement of the rollers with the flanges 4 and 28 of the bar. The template is carried on the bar 3 by the dovetail portion 5. A guard 43, provided with a facing of felt and fitted over the rollers 14, 15 prevents foreign matter settling on the rollers and also cleans the upper face of the web 13.
