Abstract

286,528. Hoe & Co., Ltd., R., (Hoe & Co., Inc., R.). June 16, 1927. Feeding webs.- To remove wrinkles from a web as it passes to a rotary intaglio or other printing - machine, the web is passed over a smooth bar curved in a direction transverse to the run of the web and provided with means for varying the curvature of the bar at different points in its length. The bar 14, which is made of light flexible metal, is supported at its ends by bolts 19 passing through slots in the bar and secured to a support 16 carried by the frame of the machine. A number of screws 22 are threaded through the support 16 and provided with rounded heads 23 engaging the bar 14, so that, by adjusting the screws, the curvature of the bar may be varied as required.
