Ball-and-socket joints with valves.-A joint for pipes consists of a plurality of ball-and-socket joints, each comprising a ball member b<1> and a cap d<1> adapted to bear against the internal and external surfaces respectively of an extension of the ball casing a' under the action of a spring c<1>, the spring being adjustably mounted on the supply conduit b<1> which is integral with the ball. The supply conduit of one joint communicates with the casing of the other as shown. A spring-pressed valve r;. operated by fluid pressure is preferably arranged within one of the casings a', while a nozzle k may be provided on the other casing for connection of the joint to the part to be lubricated.
