Abstract
252,614. Oskin, B. C. Oct. 31, 1925. Razors, safety. To facilitate removal and insertion of the blade A in a safety razor of the kind provided for stropping purposes with parallel shafts 13, 14 geared together by pinions 15, 16, the blade is held between a plate B fixed to the shaft 13 and a plate C rotatable on the shaft 14 and slidable thereon, being urged in one direction by a spring 23. Plate B has tongues 28, 29 adapted to pass through elongated rounded holes 18, 19 in the blade and corresponding openings 25, 26 in the plate C, which is moved by hand to the right, Fig. 3, to allow the tongues to pass, and is then moved by the spring to engage the plate C. under the tongues. At the same time, a tongue 24 on plate C passes through an elongated rectangular opening 17 in the blade and a corresponding opening 27 in plate B. The device is then in condition for stropping in the usual way. For shaving use, the tongue 24 is caused to pass through a hole 30 and engage a comb guard-plate 9 rigidly secured in the handle 2, the guard plate being provided with upstanding lugs 12 in which the shafts are journaled. The handle may be solid, or, as shown, may be hollow to hold a brush 3 and provided with a drip vent 4
