Abstract
315,580. Dew, J. W. H. July 23, 1928. Razors, safety.-In a safetv razor in which the blade is clamped between two plates d, e, and in which the plate d is rotatably connected to a member c which is pivoted to the handle g so that the latter may be folded into the plane containing the blade, automatically operative means are provided for holding the handle in the operative position. As shown, two levers h controlled by springs j are pivoted to the handle g so that one end engages recesses in the member c. The other ends project slightly from the handle so that they may be pressed towards one another to remove the opposite ends from the recesses in the member c. The levers h may be replaced by a catch or catches having a sliding or rotary movement and engageable with a detent on the holder. The catch may have a cover which when given a rotary or sliding movement may release the catch. The handle may have one or more apertures k to enable the parts to be folded closely together.
