Abstract

331,779. Bell, W. Oct 8, 1929. Scrapers; tool edge protectors.-A paint &c. scraper has a blade clamped in a holder formed of two similar stampings 1, 2 arranged face to face and pivoted together between their ends at 3, the stampings being formed with clamping faces 1<a> and 1<b> at one end and with handle parts 1<c> and 1<d> at the other. The parts are opened and the scraper blade, such as an autostrop safety razor blade 6 with a reinforced portion 6<a>, is laid on one of the clamping faces ; the holder parts are then closed and the blade securely held between lugs 4<a>, 5<a> which terminate rims 4, 5 on the handle parts. The edge 6b is protected by a spring guard 7 adapted to clip over the portions 1<a>, 1<b>.
