Abstract
257,754. Ostrovsky, H. Sept. 24, 1925. Razors, safety, of the type in which the blade is clamped between plates secured by a bifurcated handle the limbs of which engage studs on the plates, are provided with means whereby the angle of the blade relatively to the handle can be adjusted. Means may be provided to adjust the position of the blade between the plates. The blade a is clamped between a cover plate d and guard f. The studs e on plate d which pass through the usual holes in the blade and guard have holes j aligning with holes i in lugs h on the guard f, the pairs of holes i, being engaged by projections l on the limbs m of a bifurcated handle which is sprung into place. The limbs m may be integral and of springy material or hinged and forced apart by a separate spring. Each lug h has two or more holes o, one or other of which is engaged by an additional projection n on the limb m, so that the angular position of the handle is adjustable. The handle may have hinged members p, q between which a blade may be held for stropping &c., the head t of member p snapping into place between members m. The studs e may be a loose fit in the holes in the blade, a rotatable eccentric pin w fitting a corresponding central hole in the blade being used to adjust the position of the blade. A rib f<1> is provided on the guard to facilitate disengagement of the handle.
