Abstract

398,922. Massage appliances. RIGBY BATTOCK, Ltd. and ROBERTSON, C. P., Muston, Road, Upper Clapton, London. April 2, 1932, No. 9527. [Class 81 (ii).] A massage appliance comprises a rigid head 3 having a number of rigid tooth members 4 of varying lengths projecting therefrom, the outer ends of which members are chamfered so that the operative faces 5 are disposed at a common angle to the plane of the head. The members 4 decrease in length towards the handle 6 which may be integral with the head or attached thereto as by means of two coil springs 9, 10, and a spring plate 7 which is fixed to the head but is free to slide in the slot provided between the recessed portion 13 of the handle and a plate 12. The head may be moulded from material such as " bakelite," and the members 4 may be formed separately and secured, for example, by means of screwed lugs engaging threaded apertures. The handle may be dispensed with.
