Stropping-apparatus.-A base plate a is formed with projecting members d in which are pivoted two rollers b, c geared together by gears g, h, the roller b projecting slightly through an opening e in the base plate to engage the strop f, and the roller c carrying a plate k upon which the blade j is carried. The plate a has formed thereon depending prongs i, which act to guide the and to keep the gear g away from the edge of the strop, and a handle z is secured to the plate. The plate is held in position on the plate k by a hook-shaped part m and by a device n which is pressed by a spring t so that a head p thereon, having a cut-away portion q, engages one end of the slot in the blade, the part m engaging the other end of the slot. The base plate is extended at the handle end to prevent contact of the fingers with the strop.
