Abstract

246,680. Barton, J. Feb. 18, 1925. Stropping-apparatus.-A safety razor blade 13 is sharpened by a strop, which is passed over a roller 4 carried by frame members 1, 2, between guide bars 5, 24, and over a rocking-member 22 pivoted at the end of the frame remote from the roller 4. The blade 13 is carried by a flexible strip slidable in a holder 12 having tubular ends and arranged at an inclination to the members 1, 2, one end of the holder engaging a spindle mounted in a shoulder 23 formed in the members 1. The spindle carries a toothed segment 8 engaging a toothed segment 9 on the spindle of the rocking-member 22. In operation, the strop is reciprocated, and by its engagement with the member 22 causes the blade to swing into contact with the parallel rims of the strop. Specification 187,815 is referred to.
