Abstract
250,580. Rebsomen, E. H. J. April 7, 1925, [Convention date]. Movable - abutment type; adjusting parts for wear; driving pumps. - One of the gear wheels of a gear pump for distributing viscose in the manufacture of artificial silk is housed in a supporting member which more than half surrounds the gear wheel so as to retain it without the use of an axle, the arrangement being such that the effects of wear can be overcome by causing two gear wheels to approach one another relatively. A gear 2 accurately fits a recess in the pump casing 1 and is engaged by a gear 3 housed eccentrically in a supporting member 5 which is mounted in a second recess 6 in the pump casing and which is pressed by a spring 9 acting on a pin 13 to force the gears into engagement. The gear 2 is driven through a tongue and groove connection 16 with a shaft 15.
