Abstract

143,912. Wood, G. A. March 15, 1915, [Convention date]. Jacks.-In a gear oil pump for use with lifting-jacks &c. the arrangement is such that the liquid may be caused to flow in one direction through the gears; in the opposite direction without passing through the gears, or it may be circulated continuously within the casing. Fig. 3 shows a lifting jack to which the pump, shown at 2, may be applied. The space above the piston 41 is used as a reservoir for oil which may be forced into the space below the piston by the pump, or transferred back again by short circuiting the gears.
