Priming, preventing; partitions and baffles in water space.-In a steam and water containing vessel such as a boiler drum B, a baffle A extending the whole length of the vessel is provided with its lower end entering the water, and arranged in relation to the fluid inlets C so as to provide with the adjacent wall and with end plates a confined space open only at the top. Within this apace steam and water separate, water being delivered downwardly to the main body and steam above the water, a deflector D spaced from and overhanging the baffle changing the direction of the steam before delivery to the free space in the vessel.
