Abstract

288,079. Robinson, M. Aug. 12, 1927. Partitions in water space. - A marine or like boiler is divided by partitions 2, 3 extending the entire length of the boiler shell to form a number of independent steam generating units. The partitions pass between the furnace flues 8 and are riveted to the top and bottom and to the end plates of the boiler shell. Each generating unit is traversed by a furnace flue and has a separate feed supply. Stay bolts 5 stay the partitions to one another and to the boiler shell. The middle generating unit may be placed in communication with each of the side units through apertures in the partitions, and the side units may be placed in communication with one another through pipes extending across the middle unit.
