Abstract

249,909. Lund, A. B. Dec. 5, 1924. Addition to 223,946. Flat extended surfaces, surfacing.-The grinding-spindle and its bearings described in the parent Specification are employed with the axis of the spindle in an inclined, or in a horizontal position. The spindles 3a, 3b are counterbalanced by weights 17a acting over pulleys 16b, 16c and pinions 16d, instead of by weighted quadrant, and the spindles are mounted on angularly adjustable bearings C, adjustable on the machine frame A. and counterbalanced by weighted chains C' passing over pulleys C<2>. In an arrangement with the spindle, or spindles horizontal, these are freely supported on the base of the machine, the work table moving between the grinding-wheels. According to the Provisional Specification the work may be carried by a rotary table.
