Abstract

Antifriction-wheel bearings; adjusting for position.-Bearings for apparatus for testing the balance of bodies which are to rotate when in use, are adjustable as to height and distance from one another and comprise circular moving disks with an adjustable roller and stop. The body a to be balanced rests on perfectly balanced rotatable disks b, and between a fixed stop d and an adjustable stop roller c; the roller c is mounted on an arm h, which may be adjusted by a fixed nut and a screw attached to the arm. The sets of bearings are adjustable horizontally and vertically by hand wheels e, f respectively. Modifications are described in which the body to be balanced (1) overhangs the bearings, (2) is mounted in a hollow drum, or (3) rests on overlapping friction disks.
