Abstract

248,599. Cuixart, J. May 19, 1925. Fixed-abutment type.-In a rotary pump of the type in which a cylindrical pump body is formed with lateral inner faces which are cambered to form working chambers for the radial axiallyslidable blades of a cylindrical drum mounted concentrically.in the pump body, the pump body is divided transversely into two substantially equal parts along a plane parallel to and intermediate between the end faces of the drum, and there is provided a single suction pipe and a single delivery pipe in the respective parts with each of the pipes communicating with the working chambers on both sides of the pump. The halves 1, 2 of the pump body are bolted together. as shown, and enclose the drum 10 rotated by a shaft 12. The blades 11 are moved axially by engagement with the cambered lateral faces of the pump chamber. The suction Fort 3 communicates with the working chamber 18 and it is pro. longed to communicate with the chamber 16. The impulsion duct 4 communicates similarly with the chambers 16, 18. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 6, the end 12<1> of the shaft 12 has a helicoidal groove 20 which :allows part of the impelled liquid to lubricate the bearing 5, the liquid escaping through the pipe 21 to the suction port 3 of the pump.
