Abstract

247,355. Gladwell, S. B. Jan. 14, 1925. Valves actuated in. directly.-The movable part 10 of the supply valve of a drinking bowl for animals is adapted to be engaged and lifted by a fork member 9 at the end of a lever 3 when this lever is depressed by the snout of an animal seeking water. The part 10 is normally depressed by a spring 15 thus maintaining inlets 14 closed. Lugs 19 on the part 10 move in guides 20 formed in the fixed part 11 of the valve. The lever 3 is provided with cam members 27 that normally bear against the lugs 19 and prevent the bowl being tipped up.
