Abstract

247,165. Stollberg, C. Feb. 3, 1925, [Convention date]. Couplings, automatic.-A square - shaped coupling head 1, Fig. 1, is provided at its front end with two inclined surfaces 22 and carries a fixed coupling hook 2 on each of two oppositely - arranged sides, the hooks being inclined at an angle of 45‹ to the vertical longitudinal middle plane, and the coupling head is also provided with a double-ended locking member 3 for the hooks of the opposing coupler, the locking member being rotatable about the axis of the coupler against the action of two springs 4, Fig. 2. A central sleeve 7, Fig. 5, forms a bearing on which rotates the locking member 3 and an uncoupling lever 9 operated from the side of the vehicle. A central bore in the sleeve 7 forms a passage for a brake train pipe provided with coupling means. An additional heating-air pipe coupling may be mounted on a bracket supported-by the coupling head. Trunnions 5 projecting from opposite sides of the head are adapted to carry links of a non-automatic coupling.
