Abstract

245,626. Cockburns, Ltd., and Mac- Nicoll, D. Feb. 19, 1925. Closure members ; dashpots, applications of.- An isolating-valve particularly applicable for use in steam boiler installations working at pressures in the neighbourhood of 800 lbs. per sq. inch is provided with a dash-pot and with a supplementary breathing valve both arranged on the outlet side of the main valve. The supplementary valve 6 is fitted with depending studs 7 passing through apertures 8 in the main valve 1. The lift of the supplementary valve is limited by nuts 9 screwed on the studs. The dash-pot cylinder 2 is secured to the cover 3 and contains a piston 4 connected to the valve spindle 5.
