Cutting slices in succession.-In a meat-slicing machine, the rind or skin support is adapted to be set automatically relatively to the knife edge and means are provided for maintaining the support in its set position. In Fig. 1, the skin support 9 carries a fibre roller 10 at its bifurcated end and a spring 13 urges the support, along guide bars 6, 7 towards the knife 12 until the roller contacts with the edge thereof. The support is clamped in the desired position by a screw 14.
