Abstract

Table knives, gauging-attachments for.-To facilitate cutting uniform slices, a carving or like knife is provided with a guide bar or plate d, free at one end and mounted at the other end in a clip d' which embraces a circular part a of the haft near the blade B and is clamped thereto by means of a pinching screw d<2>, adjustment for thickness of slice being obtained by swivelling the clip about the haft. The bar can be arranged en either side of the knife. If the part a is not circular or if the clip is to be mounted directly on the blade as in Figs. 7 and 10, adjustment is effected by swivelling the bar about a cranked end part d<3> thereon. The cranked end of the guide bar may be tapered to fit the clip, and the bar is clamped in the adjusted position by means of a wing-nut d' engaging the end of the bar, the clip itself being separately clamped.
