Knives, gauging-attachments for.-In a carving or like knife provided with a detachable and adjustable guide or gauge for determining the thickness of the slices cut, the guide bar f is mounted at the ends on screws e so that the screws can rotate in the bar and the screws project laterally through threaded holes in clamps c, h detachably secured at the ends of the blade a. The ends of one or both of the clamps may be slit and provided with transverse screws by which the screws e may be locked in the adjusted position; the bar may be solid or tubular or a tube mounted upon a spindle.
