298,429. Sheppard, E. V. Feb. 7, 1928. Cutting slices in succession. - A slicing machine is provided with a substance supporting plate comprising fixed and movable sections, the latter being adapted to move with respect to the fixed sections by or during the cutting feed of the machine. The movable sections 11 are provided with means for engaging the meat and with side ribs for engaging grooves in the side and central members of the relatively fixed part 13. The meat clamp 14 is carried by a frame moved forward by the feed mechanism. The movable sections which may be connected to the feed mechanism move forward with the meat.
