Abstract
311,584. Maatschappij tot Vervaardiging van Snijmachines Volgens van Berkel's Patent en van Andere Werktuigen, and Berkel, C. F. M. van. June 27, 1928. Cutting slices in succession.-In a slicing- machine wherein the feed table is guided along one side only, means directly or indirectly connected to the feed table are provided to prevent overturning thereof, e.g., whilst the meat is being placed on the table. As shown, the feed table 4 is secured to a guide block 5 which slides on a tubular guide 6 which houses the feed screw 7 and is slotted longitudinally to permit the feed nut segment 8 to engage the feed screw. The guide 6 is secured, at its ends, in lugs on the reciprocating carriage or, if the knife rec.iprocates, on the stationary under table. The table 4 is positioned above a plate 10 forming part of the carriage, the plate 10 having a track 11 on the underside, which is engaged by a roller 12 on a rod 13 projecting from the block 5. The roller may be mounted on an antifriction roller bearing 12a, or the roller may be replaced by one or more balls carried in a head on the rod 13. Two arms 13 with rollers may be provided. The feed nut is controlled by means described in Specification 311,651. Rotation of the clamp 9 about the post 16 is prevented by a supplementary post.
