In a modification, the coupling-nuts are re placed by loose flanges, the hole through each flange being of two diameters thus forming an internal shoulder adapted to bear against the rib on the pipe. As shown in Fig. 5, the invention is applicable to connecting a pipe A to an elbowpiece &c. H.
