Controlling variable-speed gearing.-Feeding mechanism for a mining-machine includes a plurality of clutch elements and controlling means therefor comprising a plurality of rods and a common operating element for moving the rods longitudinally. Two clutches may be controlled by juxtaposed rods with half-round, oppositely-threaded ends engaged by a single double-threaded nut as set out in the abridgment of Specification 232,196.
