Abstract
240,984. Bunn, C. W. Sept. 2, 1924. Latches, sliding, are held in either of the extreme positions by pawls pivoted to the casing and urged out of recesses in the latches by springs, engagement of the pawls with the latches being effected by cams turned by handles separate from the latch handle. The latch-bolt 1, operated by a follower on the boss 16 or by a lever handle 2, has a pair of notches or abutments 4, 5 corresponding to the shot and retracted positions. The nose 8 of the pawl 6 pivoted to the casing 7 at 9 can be caused to engage the appropriate notch by the cam 11 against the spring 10, by means of the handle 15 mounted on the square spindle 12. A projection 14 on the casing engages a lug 13 on the cam to form a stop.
