Cylinder paper machines; couch rolls. - In multi-cylinder machines for making cardboard and the like, the pressure roller 4 of each cylinder 2 is provided with an unperforated rubber coating, a deflector 10 held in guides 11 prevents the extracted water from spreading and the water-extracting rollers 8 of the carrier 1 are also rubber coated. The frame 7, supporting the carrier 1, rolls 4 and deflectors 11, is provided with a downward extension 14 and pivoted at the end thereof to make possible the swinging of the frame out of its operative position when more than two cylinders are combined.
