Abstract

239,767. Kellenberger, L. Jan. 17, 1925. Disc and wheel apparatus.-In a cylinder grinding-machine of the kind wherein a rotary bushing a carries an eccentricallymounted grinding-spindle p means are provided for disengaging the drive of the bushing at a particular point in its rotation so that adjustment of the eccentricity of the grinding-spindle and the trueing up of the grinding-wheel are facilitated. The bushing a is driven by a sprocket b loose on a collar c secured to the bushing, the driving connection consisting of a key f carried on a spring plunger e mounted in the collar. The spring plunger coacts with a pin h so that when the pin is lowered into the path of the plunger the latter engages the pin which is thus forced inwardly to disengage the drive. In order to reengage the drive, the pin h is raised whereupon the plunger e is forced outwards by a spring k. The grinding-spindle p is driven from a pulley s and is mounted eccentrically in a spindle o which is itself eccentrically mounted in the bushing a. The spindle o is adjusted in the bushing to vary the eccentricity of the grinding-spindle by means of worm gearing n.
