Rollers, road.-The steering fork c in which the front roller a is mounted and the saddlepiece k connecting the upper part of the fork c to the boiler or frame are stamped from sheet metal. The fork c is U-shaped in cross-section and may be provided with riveted reinforcing members d. The thickness of the metal of the fork c or reinforcing members d is varied according to the load. The downwardly projecting parts of the fork c are inclined outwardly. The shaft h of the roller a is mounted in bearing members e provided with covers g. It is kept in place by the lower ends of the fork engaging over flats f on it. The pivot pin h is carried by a plate i riveted to the fork, and passes through a casting m in the saddle-piece k.
