Abstract

274,427. Gaier Ges., C. July 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Rollers and roller heads.-The cover 3 of the upper drawing-roller of machines for preparing worsted or the like is carried by a sleeve 2 detachably secured to an inner ring 4 supported on an axle by ball bearings 5 or by a single roller bearing. The roller is completely enclosed by end plates 7, 8, the plate 7 serving as an abutment for the sleeve which is secured by screws 9. The bearings 5 are spaced by a bush 6 and lubricated through a hole normally closed by a screw 12. The single roller bearing is lubricated through a similarly closed hole in the side of the ring 4. The sleeve 2 and the ring 4 may be coned to facilitate mounting and dismounting, securing screws for the sleeve being then dispensed with. Parchment may be used in addition to felt as a cover. Specifications 7643/03 and 237,482 are referred to.
