Securing rollers on shafts.-Wooden rollers ,such as for domestic mangles and wringers, are secured on round or square shafts c by means of end discs a, provided with three or more cylindrical projections b to engage holes f in the roller d and with a flange f disposed outside the ring of projections and adapted to exclude water and prevent splitting of the wood. In the case of square shafts, the discs a fit thereon and are held in place by the machine bearings, while in the case of round shafts, taper pins e or other securing means are employed.
