Abstract

255,781. Mitchell, M. April 16, 1926. Rollers.-A mangle roller out of which the core is bored prior to seasoning is provided with end plates 7 and annular bands of rubber &c. 10 to prevent the penetration of water. Each plate 7 is non-rotatably secured to the roller 3, e.g. by having a flange 8 of the section shown in Fig. 2 to engage the correspondingly shaped end of the roller, the diameters of the flange 8 and the roller shoulder 6 being such as to leave a groove for the rubber ring 10. The shafts 11 may be in one with the end plates 7 or a single shaft may pass through the roller and squared holes in the plates.
